He is also survived by his daughter Paula, son Pablo and wife Mary, and grandchildren Gustavo, Darian, and Dana Gonzales. Joe had been ill these past two years, but always stayed cheerful, never complained, and always loved visits from family and friends. Joe was always willing to listen, give advice, and share his memories. He is remembered as a caring, compassionate and selfless person, and was well loved. He will be forever remembered by his brothers in-law and sisters in-law, numerous nephews, nieces, large extended family, and many, many, dear friends. Joe served in the United State Army, during World War II, from 1942-1945, as a Sergeant for the Signal Core both in the European and Pacific Theatres. He served his country with honor and pride. Mr. Gonzales was a graduate of the first graduating class of Pojoaque in 1938.
