Obituary for Lloyd Tafoya

Lloyd  Tafoya
Lloyd P. Tafoya, 79, of Santa Fe passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011. He was born on December 23, 1931 in Del Norte, CO to Lucia and Carlos Tafoya and married Bertha Esquibel on January 12, 1952. Lloyd is preceded in death by his father, Carlos Tafoya, mother, Lucia Tafoya, and sons, Larry Tafoya, and Orlando Tafoya. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bertha Tafoya, son, Wayne Tafoya (Christine), daughter, Je’Anne Angel (Sam), 8 grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 1 brother, 5 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lloyd served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed with Wilson Transfer and storage for 16 years. He had a love for the casino and enjoyed the Denver Broncos.

A visitation was held at The Rivera Family of Santa Fe Funeral Options Chapel and a rosary was recited at St. Anne's Catholic Church on July 17, 2011. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on July 18, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The Tafoya family has entrusted their loved one to:
