Alexander "Sandy"  Andrews
Alexander Andrews, know to family and friends as “Sandy” died, Friday, July 22, 2011 in Santa Fe. He was 84. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry, in 1997. Sandy is survived by his wife. Lynne Bower Andrews; daughter and son-in-law, Chappell and Ron Walendziak of New Milford, CT; stepdaughter, Laurie Bower of Santa Fe, stepson, David Bower and wife Janet, and grandchildren, Sophie and Christian Bower of Minturn, CO; nephews Randall C. Coleman and John S. Foote and their families; and several step-grandchildren.

Andrews was born in Flushing, New York on December 14, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and graduated from Washington & Lee University and Columbia Law School. For thirty-five years he was a principal of Hardcastle & Co. and The Commonwealth Group, marketing firms based in Connecticut. In 1991 he and his wife moved from Ridgefield, Connecticut to Santa Fe where Alexander worked with longtime blind attorney, Albert Gonzales, and wrote a biography of Gonzales entitled: Albert: Behind the Dark Glasses.

A memorial service will be held on the coast of Maine at a later time. Contributions in his memory, may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. The Andrews family has entrusted their loved one to the Rivera Family of Santa Fe Funeral Options. (989-7032)
