James Herrera, 50, of Des Montes passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father, Jacobo Herrera, grandparents, Santiago and Cesarita Fresquez, Daniel and Rosita Herrera. He is survived by his mother, Cervellona “Cerve” Herrera, sisters, Patsy Vargas (Lawrence), Susan Herrera and Pearl Yeager (Tom), nephews, Jacob and Jeffrey Vargas, Isaac Vigil, niece, Briana Yeager, great nephew, Jacob A. Vargas and great niece, Vanessa Vargas, aunts, Dolores Varos, Cedelia Roybal, Carol Coria, Angelica Stoner, Lupe Cordova, Mary Salazar, Dee Ortega and Prescilla Jiron, godparents, Andy Montoya and Martha Bruce, many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Taos Ski Valley Ski Racing Team at Box 3011, Taos, New Mexico.

Evening service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 7 PM at Rivera Chapel. Funeral Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 2 PM at Rivera Chapel. The public is invited to wear polo shirts to the Funeral service in memory of James.
